Morning Melodies Premieres in 2024 with a Tribute to Doris Day in March

Back

Community members are invited to go on a ride down memory lane on Tuesday 12 March with Australian Country Music legend Melinda Schneider performing Morning Melody ‘A Farewell to Doris Day’ at the Innisfail Shire Hall.

Self-proclaimed as Doris Day’s biggest fan, Melinda has recorded two albums of Doris’ songs, and co-written and starred in a theatre show based on Doris’ life.

A heartfelt tribute, this concert celebrates everything Doris Day as the infamous “girl next door”, and includes timeless hits such as Que Sera, Sera, Sentimental Journey, Everybody Loves a Lover and Secret Love plus classic songs from the movies.

‘A Farwell to Doris Day’ is the first of four Morning Melodies performances for this year with more events scheduled in June, October and December.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council is proud to host Morning Melodies, a program which continues to provide a platform for the community to connect through arts and culture.

Tickets are $15 including morning tea and can be purchased online now at www.trybooking.com/CNWIJ  or in person at one of Council’s Customer Services Centres at Innisfail Shire Hall or Tully Civic Centre.
