Mourilyan Road Stormwater Relining Works - 24 May 2025

Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise the commencement of Mourilyan Road stormwater relining works on 24 May 2025.

24 & 25 May - Closure to East Innisfail State School pick up / drop off zone – Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 May only. Weekday works will be scheduled during hours that cause the least disruption to school operations.

This project involves the renewal of approximately 100 meters of deteriorated stormwater infrastructure beneath Mourilyan Road and Coronation Drive, near the East Innisfail State School pick-up/drop-off zone. Relining will restore the structural integrity of the existing stormwater system, preventing failures and extending its service life. The project is anticipated to conclude by the 27 May 2025, pending on favorable site and weather conditions.

Council will endeavour to minimise possible temporary impacts such as:

• Traffic delays & access to kerbside parking.
• Construction noise.
• Disruption to driveway access.
• Pedestrian access to Coronation Drive footpath.

Funding:

Construction is jointly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme, and the Cassowary Coast Regional Council.

For the safety of workers and road users, changed traffic conditions will be in place while the works are carried out.
