Notice of Tesla Supercharger Works - Morris Street Carpark, Tully

Back

Cassowary Coast Regional Council wishes to advise the commencement of the Tesla Supercharger Installation on 2 June 2025.

This project will involve the installation of a 6-bay electric vehicle charging station, complete with a solar canopy, in Tully. Once operational, the site will be listed on Tesla’s global website and visible within every Tesla vehicle's navigation system in Australia, significantly increasing the town's visibility.

The project is expected to drive increased foot traffic into Tully, as EV drivers stop to charge their vehicles. This increase in visitation will likely result in a boost to local businesses through higher sales and contribute to enhancing tourism in the region.

The project works are anticipated to conclude by 14 July 2025, pending favorable site and weather conditions.

Council will endeavour to minimise possible temporary impacts such as:

  • Temporary changes to traffic flow within Morris Street Carpark
  • Access to certain parking spaces limited
  • Construction noise
  • Temporary disruption to Morris Street pedestrian crossing
  • Temporary disruption to footpath access and waste services in Rotary Park

FUNDED

This project is a Queensland Government initiative delivered by Tesla, as part of a Supercharger Licence Agreement signed by Council. There are no costs to Council.
