Coronation Drive Pathway Renewal and Upgrade – Starting 13 May 2025

Cassowary Coast Regional Council will commence the renewal and upgrade of the Coronation Drive Pathway from 13 May 2025, weather permitting.

The works will take place on the section between Jubilee Bridge and East Innisfail State School.

What to Expect:

  • Pathway and Traffic Lane Closures: A traffic guidance scheme will be in place. Pedestrians will be redirected to the grass verge on the eastern side of Coronation Drive or the Mourilyan Road pathway.

  • Scope of Works:

    • Removal and replacement of the existing pathway

    • Installation of new retainer walls

    • Pedestrian safety fencing

    • Minor drainage improvements

Temporary Impacts:

  • Single-lane traffic flow

  • Pathway closure and detours for pedestrians

  • Construction noise

Project Timeline:

Works are expected to be completed by 4 July 2025, subject to site and weather conditions.
